What Are Pre-existing and Chronic Conditions?

  • Pre-existing Conditions are health issues that were present or known before your health insurance policy started. This includes any illnesses or conditions you were aware of, should have known about, or showed symptoms of prior to the inception of your policy.
  • Chronic Conditions refer to health issues that are persistent or long-lasting, often lasting three months or more. While these conditions, such as hypertension, diabetes, and arthritis, can often be managed, they typically cannot be cured and may worsen over time.

Coverage Based on Your Plan

  • Individual/Family & SME Plans: Our plans for individuals, families, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) do not cover pre-existing conditions. This is an important consideration when choosing your health insurance plan.
  • Seniors’ & Corporate Plans: We offer comprehensive coverage for seniors and members of our corporate plans, including coverage for pre-existing conditions and the medications needed to manage these conditions.
